The Deadly Winters are a Scottish band of brothers on a journey. A journey from being a much loved, yet well-worn rock outfit, to becoming the creators of some of the most wonderfully heartfelt and emotive story-based music around today.
Still retaining the explosive impact and drive of their earlier work, yet presented in a thought-provokingly descriptive, and much more subtle manner, The Winters's re-define the term 'folk-rock', and take us on musical travels through tales of love, pain, sorrow, joy and friendship, and show us all that sometimes, even whispers can deafen.
The Deadly Winters implore everyone and anyone to join them in the ongoing adventure of creating beautiful music, and wonderful stories, for a world that badly needs a wee pick-me-up.
"The divine sound of The Deadly Winters. A sing-a-long song if there ever was one"
- Jim Gellatly (Voice of New Music in Scotland - In:Demand Uncut, Amazing Radio, Scottish Sun, Jim Gellatly's NEW MUSIC Podcast)
"Melodic and evocative of a warm winter room at dusk for some reason, the chorus will put you in mind of an acoustic Dexys whilst the melody lines will call to mind an early Badly Drawn Boy."
- Gill Mills (Radio 1, NME, Best of Myspace, New Music Matters)
"an accomplished and mature piece of work….. it's stuffed full of lovely melodies and toe-tapping charm.”
- Radar – The Scotsman New Music Blog
